Toronto / Remote / For the word-obsessed, the clever, and the quietly dangerous
SIGNA is looking for a Copywriting Intern who feels things too deeply and says things too well. Someone who reads a line and immediately wants to make it sharper. Someone who writes for fun, for chaos, for catharsis — not just for grades.
If your brain produces one-liners in the shower, captions in traffic, and existential taglines at 3AM… yeah, you’re one of us.
This is not a “marketing internship.” This is your first language laboratory.
You write. A lot. Taglines, captions, scripts, microcopy, concepts, manifesto fragments, story beats — whatever the signal demands. You shadow the writers and strategists, help shape narratives, and learn the difference between “good copy” and copy that rearranges someone’s spine. You get real assignments, real feedback, real pressure — and real growth.
You won’t be asked to get coffee. You’ll be asked to create.
– Good instincts with language – Curiosity, taste, and a sense of humor (a little dark is fine) – Comfort writing fast, rewriting often, and killing your darlings – A willingness to explore tone, personality, and voice – Interest in psychology, storytelling, culture, or rhetoric – No fear of critique — only fear of being boring
You don’t need a big portfolio. You just need to show us you can think.
You’re the person your friends ask to “fix the text.” You collect phrases the way other people collect shoes. You love metaphors, rhythm, timing, tension — even if you can’t explain why yet. You write notes to yourself. You write nonsense. You write when you’re supposed to be doing other things. You know there’s something inside you that needs shaping, and you want the right place to shape it. SIGNA will teach you how to make your words dangerous.
Mentorship from writers and strategists who actually care. Hands-on experience in brand voice development, narrative design, and campaign ideation. Opportunities to pitch lines, craft concepts, and find your voice. A studio that treats writing as architecture — not filler. A chance to grow stupidly fast.
Send us anything that proves you can write: a paragraph, a caption, a short rant, a school assignment, a fake ad, a poem, whatever. We just want to feel your brain. arash@signa.agency Subject line: COPYWRITING INTERN
