DESIGN INTERN (APPRENTICE TO CHAOS)

Toronto / Remote / For the hungry, the strange, and the ones who learn too fast

SIGNA is looking for a Design Intern who isn’t here to “gain experience.”
You’re here because something in you refuses to stay small.
You’ve got instincts that don’t fit inside classroom assignments.
You’ve got taste that surprises people.
You’ve got ideas that are too weird, too big, too alive — and you need a place that won’t crush them.

This is your initiation.

WHAT YOU DO HERE

You design. A lot.
You support the creative team on brand systems, posters, layouts, social assets, web visuals, deck design, experimental concepts — whatever the signal demands that day.
You learn how to take direction, iterate fast, and push work from “good” to “oh damn.”
You sit close to the fire and see how real studios think, build, and break patterns.

You won’t be asked to get coffee.
You’ll be asked to create.

WHAT WE EXPECT

– Basic design fundamentals (typography, layout, composition)
– A portfolio or school project that shows instinct, not perfection
– Curiosity, hunger, and a zero-fragility attitude
– Ability to try, fail, adjust, and try again
– Passion for learning from real designers and art directors
– A willingness to be thrown into things you’ve never done before

WHO YOU ARE

You’re the person classmates came to when they wanted something to look “cool.”
You experiment constantly.
You stay up too late messing with type.
You have Figma, Photoshop, and Pinterest boards full of work no one asked you to make.
You want mentors who push you, not teachers who hold your hand.
You’re not afraid of critique — you’re afraid of being ordinary.

SIGNA is the place you become who you’re supposed to be.

WHAT YOU GET

Real projects.
Real guidance.
Real growth.
Exposure to brand building, identity design, creative strategy, film, and MIA/AI workflows.
A front-row seat to a studio that moves fast, thinks differently, and takes ideas seriously.
A chance to earn your place — not just your title.

HOW TO APPLY

Send us your portfolio — finished or not.
We want to see your taste, your instincts, and the kind of work you dream about making.
